FREE INITIAL CONSULTATION
Choosing any health care provider is an important decision. I encourage people who are interested in pursuing acupuncture to meet with me in my office for an initial consultation at no charge. We can talk together about how acupuncture might help you and you can ask me any questions you might have about treatments.
WHAT TO EXPECT
When you make the decision to begin treatments, we will schedule a diagnostic exam and initial treatment. The first visit starts with an extensive interview about your medical and personal history and includes a non-invasive physical exam. By getting to know your history and the state of your body/mind I will develop a personalized treatment plan that will bring your unique health picture into focus. Then I will do an initial treatment to clear any blockages to the flow of your energy.
The first diagnostic exam and treatment lasts one-and-a-half to two hours. Subsequent treatments can run from 45-75 minutes.
HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR TREATMENT:
- Eat lightly before treatment. It’s important not to come to an acupuncture treatment hungry or overly full.
- It can be helpful to arrive a few minutes early in order to relax, and plan some time afterwards to rest if possible.
- On the day of an acupuncture treatment, try to avoid strenuous workouts, saunas, hot tubs, hot baths, alcohol, caffeine, drafts and chills.
- Adequate rest and some regular exercise will also help to support and integrate your treatments.
INSURANCE COVERAGE
If a client’s insurance reimburses for acupuncture treatments, I will prepare the appropriate forms to send in for reimbursement. The client is responsible for determining whether the treatment will be covered. All treatments must be paid for at the time of the visit.
APPOINTMENT POLICY
Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled up to twenty-four hours in advance. Without twenty-four hours notice, clients will be charged for missed appointments, except in cases of emergency.
